Alison applies several techniques to her art works. Some are done digitally for special effects like layering her hand made oil pastel backgrounds into her work, which are scanned in and then thoughtfully applied to the painting. It gives the original art a unique and interesting blend of color and textures which can only be done by photoshop. In a sense her work can be called Mix Media. Often times she has to print the art on canvas and then go back in apply paint and acrylic varnish for a final piece. Alison does hand paint some of her pieces to suit her mood and inspiration. Her theme behind each piece is all about nature. Clouds, water, trees, rocks, sun, and land are all depicted carefully in each design.Lastly in this day and age, original art can be hand painted, digitized or both. Either way its the journey of the art and the soul of the artist that truly makes the piece original.
